Hello! My name is Chris. I live in New York City with my wonderful girlfriend and ridiculous cat. I’m a BA/MA Candidate at Columbia University, with a BA in Computer Science from the School of General Studies, and Statistics from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. I try to use data to make the world a better place, so I’m majoring in something approximating “data science,” meaning computer science, statistics, and economics. I’m co-Founder and co-President of the Columbia Data Science Society, and former president of Columbia StarCraft. For the last 3 semesters I’ve been a teaching assistant for COMSW3157 Advanced Programming.
Summer 2014 I was a Quantitative Researcher Intern at Facebook in Marketing Science.
Summer 2013 I was a hackNY fellow working at Kickstarter. I built some infrastructure, and a model using that infrastructure to help detect fraudulent projects.
Before Columbia I was at YouGov/Polimetrix for six years doing a wide variety of stuff with political data and online survey research. Before Polimetrix I spent a year doing political data work for America Coming Together.
I enjoy programming, computers, video games, running, and vacationing. I enjoy Python, C, ggplot2, SQL, and R. I tolerate Java, Stata, R, MatLab, and many, many other tools.
